PORTS DE BECEITE
Just a few miles inland from the Costa Brava stands this fascinating and largely depopulated walker’s paradise. This small mountain range is made up of high plateaux and gorges. These have acted as a barrier between the coast and the hinterland - warding off armies and pestilence as well as tourists.
The small town of Valderrobres with its C16th Fonda hosts us for the first few nights before we follow a pilgrim trail over to our second base, the quiet hamlet of Corachar. An impossibly tranquil setting even has Ibex grazing in the nearby fields.
A half day is usually taken to visit the nearby historical town of Morella.
Package includes 6 days guided walking, Free local transport and HB in the Fonda la Plaza in Valderrobres (3 nights) and Hostatgeria Sant Juame in Corachar.
Successfully launched in 2006 (see our news pages and online blog for press coverage) this walk is fast becoming a fabourite for our clientel.
